Key Assessment - LIBS 6011: Collection Development and User Services
This key assessment examines the process of developing and managing a teen and young adult library collection through community research, policy development, and programming initiatives. The project focuses on creating an inclusive, user-centered collection by analyzing demographics, assessing community needs, selecting diverse materials, and implementing engaging programs and outreach strategies for teens and young adults.
Choice Assessment - LIBS 6310: Materials for Literacy of Children
This capstone project demonstrates the collaborative role of librarians and classroom teachers in supporting literacy, science education, and information literacy through interdisciplinary instruction. The assessment includes the development of a standards-based lesson plan, diverse and inclusive collection selection, promotional activities, and a diversity audit designed to support equitable learning experiences and culturally responsive library practices for middle school students.
